iQTroller™

Minimize the size. That was our challenge and iQTroller is the result. A bar code scanning and tracking system requires a “control center” that has, in the past, required a full size power distribution panel that was
housed in a large, restraining electronics cabinet. That restraint no longer exists. iQTroller is a compact, NEMA 12 rated enclosure that houses the power supply, computer, display unit, peripheral ports and communication ports that work in conjunction with Metrologic’s C Series Penta scanners and tracking system. iQTroller can easily be mounted on a conveyor, scanner frame or as a free-standing unit. The environment in which iQTroller may operate can be harsh, so built-in climate controls have been designed into the system. In order for scanning and tracking to take place data needs to be gathered, decoded, and transmitted.

iQTroller does exactly that. In addition to acquiring the data from the Penta scanners, iQTroller provides the power necessary to operate as many as three scanners. For tracking purposes, data from the scanners, along with conveyor belt speed, entry sensor and exit sensor information is sent to the on board computer. iQTroller also has the capability to decipher three dimensional positioning of bar codes on a moving conveyor, can discriminate between multiple reads of the same bar code, and reads of differing bar codes on the same parcel.
