Development Tools – Software Development Kit (SDK)

A SDK includes all the tools necessary for programmers to develop powerful applications for the OptimusPDA running on the Windows CE platform. The SDK contains all the Application Programming Interfaces (API) required to tap into the features unique to the device such as imager, digital camera, wireless radios and keypad, and supports multiple programming languages (C/C++, C# and VB.NET). Extensive documentation, libraries and sample source code is also included. The SDK is available for download free of charge.

Software Solutions – Wavelink Avalanche

Wavelink Avalanche Mobility Center™ is the industry-leading device and network infrastructure management solution providing real-time device management and remote diagnostic capabilities for the OptimusPDA along with other devices on the network, such as wireless infrastructure devices and peripherals including barcode scanners and printers.

Centralized management: Remotely defines and deploys global updates for network and security configurations, firmware, applications, utilities, and drivers for the OptimusPDA and other devices on the network. Updates can be scheduled and distributed over the air or serially to targeted devices.

Performance monitoring: Provides assessment of device and network conditions via graphical user interface, for parameters such as capacity, utilization, signal quality and more, thus enabling proactive diagnostics and troubleshooting.

Network flexibility: Automatically discovers hardware and applies the initial configurations and profiles while rolling out a network or adding new access points, switches, handheld devices and peripherals to an existing network.

WLAN security: Sets and continually enforces all network and security configurations, including SSID, WEP, LEAP, WPA and 802.1X parameters.  Also enables WEP key rotation and centralized access control lists to extend network security policies.

Software distribution engine: Creates packages for distribution to large number of mobile devices across multiple sites and regions. In addition, target device can be chosen based on key criteria (device type, model, make, location etc).

Terminal Emulation – Wavelink Telnet Emulator™

Wavelink Telnet Emulator™ suite manages connections to mission critical applications resident on host systems using 5250, 3270, VT and HP emulation.  It also allows for connection persistence by avoiding dropped connections between devices and the host system, via use of Wavelink TermProxy™ as part of the Emulation solution. 

The Emulator suite also packages an Industrial Browser to access and manage connections to web-based host applications. Both these solutions are pre-loaded on to the OptimusPDA, thus enabling advanced, feature-rich functionality out of the box.
